Membrane Keypads and Switches

Membrane keypads or switches are made up of layers of plastic sheet, usually polyester. The layers are processed in such a way as to allow circuits to be made when the switch is pressed.  Membrane switches have a variety of uses including: Keyboards, touchscreens, fascias, panels and optical displays.

At IC Labels Ltd we manufacture a wide range of membrane switches and custom membrane keypads. We have experience and technical expertise and by using the latest equipment,  we can meet either small or high volume orders.

The top layer of a membrane switch is a graphic overlay and makes the face of the product. Underneath the Graphic layer is a spacer layer which has holes cut into it to allow the switch to actuate and complete the circuit which is on the third layer. All the layers are bonded together with adhesive.
