The application of our totally unique high volume-high speed production machinery has resulted in the saving of £52,000/year for a high volume label buyer for the DIY trade. The Customer was delighted with the increase in quality and significant reduction in cost and recognises ICLs efforts towards cost down through efficiency gains.

We are pleased to announce the installation of a Trotec S500 200W Laser cutting machine with i-Cut camera driven alignment. This will further improve our capacity for large volume decorative panels and allows to easily print and cut up to 20mm acrylic and eliminate tooling costs. We are pleased to announce in our continuing investment in the future we have invested in a brand new Tharstern Management information system. This will give us and our Customers complete visibility down to each individual process and allow us to analise our costings. Data capture terminals on the shop floor feed back to a live production board.

Due to increased demand from Europe and the Far East we have ordered a fully automatic high speed cutting press. The Spartanics M500 cutting press uses precision rollers and optical registration to achieve very high speed and extremely accurate cutting. The planned installation date is early March 2008.

Tharstern is helping our Business to increase labour efficiency and communication. The software is invaluable to us including real-time feedback we can keep a track on everything. Any queries from Customers can be dealt with there and then.

A joint venture has been announce between ICL and Inject Plastics to further develop our involvement with In mould labelling and in mould decoration. Recent projects have proved that our combined expertise and efficiency are resulting in greatly enhanced products for our customers.

Further to our expansion plans we are pleased to announce the purchase of a new 3/4 Automatic print line. This is due to be installed at the end of January. This is in response to extra work won back from the Far East. Hurrarr!
